South King Council of Human Services
At SKCHS, we know that South King County is a great place to work, play and live; we are home to a rich diversity of people who share strong traditions and solid values. However, while South King County has the largest share of the county’s population and families, it also has a disproportionately high number of families living near—or below—poverty level.
SKCHS is a membership organization consisting of nonprofit agencies, community leaders and concerned citizens who work to support one another cooperatively in building a strong safety net of health, housing and human services in South County. Our members collaborate on important projects and coordinate strategies for addressing racism and poverty in our area.
What We Do
SKCHS hosts monthly membership meetings where our members teach each other about emerging issues. We also provide technical support to agencies through our Capacity Building Project and we bring the human services community together for annual events and awards.
Most of all, we are committed to making sure that there are effective and efficient services available to people in need within our communities.
