Join SKCHS Gathering Tuesday Oct. 25th from noon-1:30 at SeaTac City Hall. In addition to networking and announcements, we will have interactive conversation with community members to cover What Makes a Community Sticky?

    Anna Markee shared the proposed budget from KC Executive Dow Constantine for Human Services Capacity Building Fund. Contact Anna to learn more.

    Roland Bradly and other members of SKC Homeless Advocacy Group are working to star a South County Homeless Day Center. They are working on establishing their board. To be involved contact Roland.

    Laura Quinn of King County Community Organization Program has small grants starting at $500 for preventions of abuse and violence in communities. Get in touch with Laura for more information.

    David de la Fuente of Communities in Schools of Kent needs your help in preventing a family in Kent from being homeless. They have till Monday Oct. 31 so if you can help please contact David.

    Alison McCaffree of Washington Nonprofits invited the group to attend the Nonprofit Governance Symposium featuring Cathy Trower. Drop Alison’s name or South King Council of Human Services and get the member rate of $80 for registration. Need help registering, get a hold of Alison, she is happy to help.

    Pat Smith of Dept. of Social & Human Services strongly encourages us to participate in the DSHS budget proposals to Governor Chris Gregoire that will impact many of the services offered to communities. Come out to the next Town Hall meeting.
